Truth or Consequences
Vous ne le croierez peut-être jamais mais Truth or Consequences est le nom d’une ville au Nouveau-Mexique qui a bien voulu céder son bouillonnant patronyme de Hot Springs pour prendre celui de l’émission de radio à succès dans les années 50 de Ralph Edwards. Fidèle à sa promesse de tenir l’antenne dans la ville qui accepterait de se renommer ainsi, Ralph Edwards y reviendra chaque année pendant 50 ans le premier week-end de mai.
Ayant attiré l’oeil du photographe Ronan Guillou, Truth or Consequences est une série de photographies ponctuée de citations des “T or Cers”, ceux qui vivent là et semblent errer de cadres en cadres. Un travail sonore accompagne aussi l’exposition. Ronan est venu nous trouver pour développer un projet d’édition particulier en série limitée, une série de posters tirés de l’exposition.
Un bleu digne des ciels des grandes plaines vient réhausser un papier beige, écho au Rio Grande.

You may never believe it, but Truth or Consequences is the name of a city in New Mexico that gave up hot Hot Springs to take over the name of the hit radio show in the 50's by Ralph Edwards. True to his promise to hold the antenna in the city that would accept to be renamed this way, Ralph Edwards will return every year for 50 years the first weekend of May.
Having caught the eye of photographer Ronan Guillou, Truth or Consequences is a series of photographs punctuated by quotations from "T or Cers", those who live there and seem to wander from frames to frames. A sound work also accompanies the exhibition. Ronan came to us to develop a limited special edition project, a series of posters from the exhibition.
A blue worthy of the skies of the big plains comes to raise a beige paper, echo with the Rio Grande.
